The Gentleman tricks – LGFG Fashion House

As we all know being a true gentleman isn’t just about the looks. The most important rules are for a man’s manners and the right manners are something that every man must learn. At first from his parents and then by himself. But looking good is something that other people can help you with, because not all of us were born with a great sense of style. And this is exactly where LGFG Fashion House comes in.

We have collected some great gentleman’s style rules and are happy to share them with you:

* What else could be the number one rule than owning a great bespoke suit. You can have an expensive cashmere blend suit but if the fit’s not right, your style will look cheap. However, suits aren’t the only thing you can get professionally altered – whether you have your jeans hemmed, chinos cropped or Oxford shirts darted for a more streamline fit, these seemingly minor alterations to your wardrobe basics don’t cost much but can make you look a million bucks.

* Know your measurements. You should know your measurements. If you like buying clothes online, then save yourself grief and disregard brands’ general sizing. Since one label’s ‘Small’ is another’s ‘Large’, and sizes vary within individual collections too, it’s worth taking your measurements. Unsure exactly what or where you should be measuring? Consider getting a professional involved – sounds expensive, but it’s not; a tailor will give you a full set of accurate readings and, in the long run, save you time, effort and money.

* Always (and we mean ALWAYS) be fresh and clean. You and your wardrobe as well. Given the amount of wear they get, it’s no surprise that some of your favourite pieces can sometimes develop a bit of an off-putting funk. For a quick freshen up, try an at-home impromptu dry-clean by hanging the offending item up on the bathroom door while you take a hot shower. Alternatively, use a time-honoured tipple as a topical treatment for smelly clothes: fill an empty, thoroughly washed out spray bottle with a little vodka, spray onto the affected garment and leave in a well-ventilated area to dry. Much like hand sanitizer, the vodka kills odour-causing bacteria, leaving your wardrobe mainstays smelling good as new. But don’t overspray because..you know.

* A gentleman knows that there is a difference between style and fashion.  Fashion changes with the news, the times, and the whims of mid-30’s Italian bachelors in the suburbs of Milano.  Style, on the other hand, is timeless.  Some things simply look good – like a ’62 Ferrari.  A Gentleman knows that his appearance sets the tone for conversations, subconscious evaluation by others, and tells his boss or his peers that he actually is quite attentive to detail.

* Never wear a hat indoors – it’s disrespectful.

* Invest in a quality leather bag. A good bag will vastly improve your life and your look! Try a classic holdall in brown or black leather. Quality is important as it needs to be the bag that stands the test of time.

* Match your leathers! Coordinating your leathers instantly brings class to your outfit. While we’re all for mixing navy, black and brown in your clothes, any leather items you wear – be it a belt, piece of jewellery, bag or pair of shoes – looks better tonally matched. They don’t have to match exactly – similar shades are what you should opt for.

* Care for your leather. After investing in a good quality leather keep in mind that its only as good as you keep it. Remember to always wipe your leather goods clean of stains.  A damp cloth will be good but you should regularly use a leather conditioning cream to prevent excessive dryness.

* Find your signature scent. The scent that is unmistakably yours. Fragrance is as important as good clothes. If you haven’t got a signature fragrance yet, you should start testing the classic fragrances before reaching more niche options.

* And last but not least – a gentleman don’t always have to be the center of attention, but they always get noticed. It is their signature as a gentleman to show up, make a statement, leave, and be remembered. It’s all part of the “you” package.

Yours truly,
